Islington Supervised Self Administration (SSA) of Methadone/Buprenorphine
Opioid substitute medication is recognised as an important element of specialist treatment for opiate dependency and the Community Pharmacist is well placed to deliver the supervised consumption element relating to this treatment.
The service aims to ensure that the service user consumes the medication safely as directed, to promote compliance with their treatment and mitigate against risk of diversion.
